Happy Birthday Grammy and Movin' On

"Always remember to slow down in life;  live, breathe, and learn ~
take a look around you whenever you have time
and never forget everything and every person
that has the least place within your heart.”
~Author unknown
We're still feeling the after-effects of tropical storm Beryl with grey skies and rain.
I tend to enjoy this type of weather for two reasons ~ one, it's only occasional and two,
it keeps me inside and I get more done. :)  So far I've been able to catch up on laundry, replenish my iced-coffee, finish our latest classic reading, bake with the boys, have way too much fun on Pinterest and have a great conversation with my MIL ~ I miss her,
it's her birthday today!!!!  She's doing great and has been home from rehab for a couple of weeks.  She's getting stronger, still not 100%, and she may never get there, but she's doing well which makes us so happy!  Happy Birthday Grammy!!!
In the world of blogging, I have a hard time trying to understand those that don't
ever visit or comment back ~ (like in never ever, ever, ever, not even once?!)
I just cannot for the life of me imagine doing that to someone ~
maybe there's something I'm missing or just don't understand?
Regardless I'm done and movin' on.
When the center of the universe is discovered, there may be some
that are shocked to learn that it's not them.
Added ~ I'm not talking about lurking or leaving comments every time ~ I lurk and I visit w/o commenting, we're
all busy and I get that.  But if someone comments (especially many times over), and to not ever respond back...
I just don't understand that thinking...even with just a quick thanks?  It's just common courtesy to me and no different than someone stopping by my house, giving me a call or getting a note in the mail.  Sure, there are exceptions and times in our life when we're just not at our best and don't have it in us ~ that's not the case here though and it's enough of a source of negativity that I really don't care for right now.  Or ever.  So I'm letting go and movin' on:)

And some of my Pinterest favorites from today ~

Well let me just say Miss Lori...that even though I don't blog much these days (although it IS on my list :-))...I am so happy that you are back at it. I so enjoy checking in on you and can't wait to see what you do with your new digs!! So glad your MIL is doing well. I'm going to try to comment more. I'm a pathetic stalker/reader these days...still finding my feet as a mom of two!

Take care...and keep blogging. Please. :-)

Lori - I couldn't agree more with the commenting. I have been blogging for over 6 years and rarely get comments (although many, many visit my blog every day). So many other bloggers that I have followed and commented on over the years with never hearing a thing back from them. Oh well!
More importantly ... so happy to hear your granny is doing well.
Love your pinertest picks (as always!). Also love your cute outfit .. so stylish and beachy! Oh, and your sock bun!!! Wish my hair was long enough to do this :).

Stopping by to say Hi!
Love your pinterest picks - you have such a great eye. Even your collage of beautiful clothes is beautiful!

Lori... you look BEAUTIFUL in that outfit! (In any outfit really). I am glad for your MIL that she is on the mend. My mom is in "rehab" too (we keep teasing her about this) for a knee replacement, after enduring cancer and a hernia surgery this year. Like your MIL, she is constantly upbeat and very strong emotionally. And I like your analogy of blogging as dropping by one's home. It really is the same. I am stuck at my 10 pound weight loss by the way... I need to get past this hurdle and unload the last 10 (15!). Maybe when school gets out next week I can exercise! I LOVE your pins! You're my favorite pinned!! ;)

I'm still around and still really enjoy your blog! I'm happy with my little blog...it doesn't see many comments, especially now that it's private but I love it and so do my kids. That's what's important :)

I know what you mean about the comments thing and that's the reason why she lost so many readers- comments and had tried getting them back ever since!! She'd even asked if it is because of Facebook Lol! Poor thing does not see that the only one who thinks she is the center of the universe is her.
We had really missed your posts Lori.
Blessings.

Lori,

Your photos are beautiful. It makes me wish we lived on the beach. We're hoping to fit in a vacation to Seaside or Rosemary Beach in Florida this summer.

So glad to hear you mother-in-law is doing well.

I'm so happy you decided to start blogging again. I love looking at all your beautiful photos and reading your posts.

Enjoy your summer.

Best regards,
Susie

Hi Lori. Love you outfit and all your pins. I love following you on Pinterest and here (and I think I always comment). I feel the same way you do about commenting. It is common courtesy to be as reciprocal as possible. There are times that I read a post on a blog though and have nothing to say. I know that over the years I have left many comments for people who never came around or commented on my blog. And that did bother me a tiny bit. However, I also worry often that I have done this to others as well. I am sure I have by mistake. I really try to stop by and comment to people who comment on my blog but often there is no link or they have not posted in month/years and so I know I have failed and I hope I have not ever hurt someone by that.

I think commenting in general on blogs is way, way down (as I make my rounds). I think it is due to facebook and I do not really go on FB. So, who ever the commenter above was referring to may have been right.
