On the Fifth Day of Crafting {Paper Snowflakes}

There is nothing quite like the beauty and magic of snow ~
I hope to never forget Christmas of 2010 ~
seeing snow drift down from the heavens ~ on Christmas day,
was truly one of the most magical moments ever!
Waking up the next morning to everything covered in white,
inspired me to want to make my own handcrafted flakes.
And that is pretty much what I did ~ all day, in front of the fire,
with a stack of white paper and a scissors, in my pajamas.
Winter days don't get much better than that.
~ Christmas 2010 ~

Okay, I tried to do a tutorial but as you can see, I'm not very good at it ~
the piece of square paper is as far as I got :) ~ so I will refer you
to what links I can find and tell you this ~ it's more about the fold than the cut.
I wanted to give an idea of the cuts ~ there really is no right or wrong, and
it's fun to see what you'll end up with ~ just as in nature, there are no two alike.
Go here, here or here for step-by-step instructions.
“Nature is full of genius, full of the divinity ~
so that not a snowflake escapes its fashioning hand.”
~ Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862)

Only you can make such simple crafts look so chic! When I was teaching and made paper snowflakes with my students, mine always came out so sad. Maybe I'll have to give it another try.

Guess what we made today? The playroom is covered in snowflakes:) Kit kept saying, "so pretty Mama". We had fun creating our snowflakes and are looking forward to our first "real" ones sometime later this week! Keep enjoying these days of December!
