The Nutcracker

We went to see the Nutcracker today, it was a daytime educational version and it was wonderful!!  It was shorter than the main-stage production and they had question & answer time before the show, at intermission and after ~ it was such a treat to be able to interact with the dancers.  Of course the costumes and stage-set were stunning!
The theater was filled with students from several Charlotte area schools, and somehow we lucked out with front-row seats ~ I'm sure it was just a numbers thing and how the seats were arranged, but I was pleasantly surprised by the attention given to us homeschoolers, thanks NCDance Theatre!
And to avoid the whole driving/parking hassle, we took the train uptown ~
something we haven't done in a long time.  We had so much fun,
the boys were so excited and it made the morning even more special!:)
"Christmas long ago was the memory of a dream that seemed never to end.
But somewhere in the middle of that dream, I always did wake up ~
just in time to attend the Christmas party."
~ Clara, The Nutcracker

Takes so much stress away when you make a decision to do something as simple as taking the train. I need to think ahead more sometimes!

Great way to get in the Christmas spirit! Look how your boys have grown! So handsome!

The idea of an educational performance is brilliant ~ wish they had offered that when Nicholas was little. Sounds like a great way begin Christmas week.

Love your coat ;)

When I was a teacher, taking my students to the ballet and to the theater. Best field trips ever! Riding the train there makes it doubly fun. Your boys have gotten SO tall!

Oh how we love the Nutcracker. We went to see it last year at the local theatre, and now we want to make it a tradition every year. I wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas, and I hope you have many special moments this season with those wonderful boys.
