Thanksgiving Tree

One of our November/Thanksgiving homeschooling projects was making a Thanksgiving Tree.  This was our first year making one and it has been great!
I made the tree trunk out of the inside of brown paper bags (cutting off the side pieces), and the branches by twisting those leftover side pieces.  Then I cut paper leaves and left them in an envelope, along with some markers, attached to a door in our kitchen area.  The boys loved it when they saw it!

I knew they would initially enjoy writing a few things and attaching the leaves,
but what I didn't expect was the thought they would put into it ~ and that it would be on-going.  There have been moments where they are busy doing something, or just passing by and will stop to write something they are thankful for.  That is exactly what I was hoping for and it has been such an encouragement for all of us.
