~ Artisan Bread

Here is the recipe for our favorite Artisan Bread ~
very easy with only four simple ingredients.
Flour, salt, yeast and water.
Easy enough for anyone to do, no kneading required
and it is just pure rustic goodness!!

I use the recipe from Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes A Day
and follow their directions found here and here!
(and also these...a combination of the two methods:)
The key for getting that irresistible crust and airy crumb is getting steam into the oven.
I use a Dutch oven but there are several other ways they show here.
They also have gluten-free and whole grain recipes!
Ingredients:

6-1/2    cups   all purpose flour
1-1/2    tablespoons   instant yeast (or two packets)
1-1/2    tablespoons   kosher salt
3    cups   lukewarm water

Enjoy!!
"Good bread is the most fundamentally satisfying of all foods:
and good bread with fresh butter, the greatest of feasts."

Oh my mouth is watering...seriously...this looks SO good. I will have to check out the gluten free options. Often they are so much more difficult to make. Yum!

It looks delicious! This would have gone wonderfully with the black bean pumpkin soup I made last night. I’ve never had much luck with making bread but if you promise it’s easy, I’ll give it try.

Have a great weekend ~

Yum! All we buy these days are the artisan breads so what fun if I could actually make a loaf?!? I don't have much confidence with making breads (or anything with yeast, or kneading, for that matter) but I'll give it a try! Thank you!!

Lori...my bread was delicious!

The only thing was it didnt have the "airy" look inside that yours does, the crust was perfect. Do you let the dough sit after you mix it (before you make your loaves)??? That was my only other thought...thanks so much for sharing....did you get your 2nd dutch oven?? :)

Had to comment again . . . my parents arrived today for a visit and what did my mother bring along but a loaf of this bread! She mentioned that for her recipe, start to finish, is about 18 hours . . . it rises for a long time.

So this will be my breakfast in the morning!
